A new best practices guide by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Immigrant Legal Resource Center, and Legal Services for Children, the Noncitizen Youth in the Juvenile Justice System Practice Guide promotes the adoption of policies and procedures for noncitizen youth that are consistent with the principles of detention and equity reform. This report includes an overview of noncitizen youth in the United States and discusses how immigration status might impact a juvenile justice case.  This resource also reports on the law as it relates to the intersection between juvenile justice and immigration enforcement.

The first of its kind, the Noncitizen Youth in the Juvenile Justice System Practice Guide can be downloaded here.
