(San Francisco, CA)—The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) thanks Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi for her storied career and her commitment to our mission advocating on behalf of immigrant communities. The Speaker Emerita announced her retirement today, saying she would not seek re-election.
The ILRC has appreciated Speaker Emerita Pelosi’s commitment to San Francisco, where the ILRC is headquartered. She has served on the ILRC’s Advisory Board since 1988. The ILRC also honors a leader with The Nancy Pelosi Award for Policy at our annual Burton Awards ceremony, an event she has attended many times, including last year when Rep. Adrian Espaillat received the award. The award was named for her in 2013 and the honoree was Sen. Dick Durbin.
