Despite attempts to alter our broken immigration system, the Biden administration has made it clear that it intends to continue to surveil our immigrant communities. This resource provides an overview of one crucial aspect of ICE’s surveillance apparatus—Automated license plate readers (ALPR)—a form of surveillance technology that threaten the privacy and safety of our communities. By using ALPR technology, ICE can use information collected by license plate readers to track, target, and deport immigrants.
