100 Days of Resistance Against the Harms of the Trump-controlled Agenda

(Washington)—The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) marked 100 days of resistance against the Trump administration’s callousness by continuing to educate all communities on the harms of his anti-immigrant and hateful agenda.

The ILRC’s mission is to work with and educate immigrants, community organizations, and the legal sector to continue to build a democratic society that values diversity and the rights of all people. The ILRC wades through the constant hype of fear and propaganda to remind communities there are protections guaranteed to them.

In the first 100 days of the Trump administration, the ILRC has:

  • Conducted numerous Know Your Rights trainings to educate communities and advocates on the rights they have under the Constitution.
  • Published a family preparedness plan giving immigrants a guide on how to protect their families if they are detained or deported.
  • Issued millions of Red Cards to educate people on what to do if approached by ICE.
  • Given immigration briefings every other week to thousands of advocates and practitioners analyzing the numerous hateful policies and executive orders from the administration.
  • Published resources analyzing topics such as Registration; the rights of lawful permanent residents; understanding the 287(g) program; a toolkit assisting people facing expanded expedited removal; constant updates on DACA and Advance Parole; understanding how the criminal legal system is a pipeline for deportation, among other resources.
  • Hosted webinars and trainings on topics such as: naturalization and citizenship; know your rights; DACA; and updates on temporary protected status.

The ILRC will continue our work interpreting the law, supporting immigrant rights organizing and campaigns, and advocating for legal and policy changes that uplift the dignity of immigrants and strengthen our democracy.  We stand in solidarity with immigrants and others in the immigrant rights movement in the face of unprecedented hatred, unconstitutional abuse and authoritarianism.
