Trump’s Attacks on Immigrants Continue as Administration Orders All Initial DACA Applications to be Rejected

(San Francisco, CA) — The Trump Administration’s attacks on immigrants continued today as he ordered all initial DACA applications to be rejected, squarely going against the recent Supreme Court decision reinstating the program.

The Administration also announced it would reject all advance parole applications from DACA recipients, and, would shorten the DACA renewal period from two years to one year.

“Once again driven by hate, and deciding to ignore the highest court in the land, Trump has turned his back on the immigrant community,” said Veronica Garcia, Special Projects Attorney at the Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC). “We urge all current DACA recipients to continue to renew their cases. The ILRC and its partners will continue to fight for a fair and inclusive permanent solution, reject Trump’s hateful actions and demand the Department immediately begin to process initial applications and restore DACA.”
