Immigrant Legal Resource Center Congratulates Nancy Pelosi on Historic Tenure

(San Francisco, CA)—The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) congratulates and commends the historic tenure of Nancy Pelosi, as the first and only woman elected Speaker of the House. The ILRC looks forward to future collaboration with Rep. Pelosi through her work on Capitol Hill, and as a member of our Advisory Board since 1988.

“Every year the ILRC honors her work on immigrant rights with our Nancy Pelosi Award for Immigration and Civil Rights Policy,” said ILRC Executive Director Eric Cohen. “Our honorees of this award have exemplified the dedication and grit in championing the rights of immigrants and their families.”

“In her 35 years in office Rep. Pelosi has led by example, never backing down from tough battles and we are heartened that she will continue to lead as she mentors the new generation of congressional leaders,” Cohen said. “Rep. Pelosi once said ‘Americans deserve a better tomorrow, today.’ The ILRC is immensely proud of its partnership with Rep. Pelosi.”
